Over a 6-month project in conjunction with Lilly Milligan Gilbert at Tallis Sustainability, I designed, researched, and oversaw the implementation of numerous operational improvements, events, and other initiatives for this private members’ club in Singapore.
Key achievements:
Conducted a competitor review of comparable businesses across Singapore and identified their sustainability strengths and opportunities
Events
Partnered with the Events team to:
organise an expert panel event in conjunction with Earth Day including speakers from SevenCleanSeas, Muuse, and Upcircle
design and implement a sustainability theme for many of their regular events, such as Entourage and Spice Market
Marketing
Partnered with the Marketing team to:
embed sustainability into regular member communication including the monthly member newsletter, the Cultural Calendar
develop a sustainability page for the website and member app to share sustainability initiatives and achievements
Operations
Worked closely with the Operations team including Kitchen, Bar, and Floor staff to:
develop a supplier review project supporting the business to connect with their current suppliers to drive sustainability
implement a change in aircon temperature which was implemented across the building, saving the Club 7% energy usage in the first month
implement a zero-waste decorations policy to include reused and rented options instead of single-use or disposable
implement the tracking of waste collection daily and recycling collection weekly
research various sustainable options including composting options, event collateral, menu options
draft a recycling cheatsheet showing what to do with common waste items as preparation for team training
develop relationships with potential new suppliers
review and draft 12 Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to embed sustainability into operations

Mandala Club engaged Tallis Sustainability and Bright Green to drive our sustainability priorities across the business.
Working with Lilly from Tallis Sustainability on a 6-month project, Elly oversaw the Operations, Marketing, and Member workstreams. She was instrumental in working with the team to conceptualise and drive change management initiatives and sustainability practices through the business.
Operations - Elly partnered with the team on operational recommendations and initiatives that were well-researched and well-aligned to our sustainability goals, bringing about the impact we were looking for.
Marketing - Elly worked with the team to design and deliver sustainability-related member events, including events for Earth Day and World Oceans Day, as well as an ongoing Sustainability circle. These events have led to increased member engagement and awareness of our commitment to sustainability.
Member - Elly also contributed to our Marketing initiatives, such as the monthly Cultural Calendar and sustainability page on our website, sharing our exciting sustainability progress.
